meet IMAN

The term "Fashionpreneur" has in recent times gain some sort of literal recognition and weight, obviously because more fashion enthusiasts are gradually moving away from just the glitz and glamour that comes with being a fashion icon to using the platform that the industry offers, to make some big bucks. Most players in the industry who now combine fashion in whichever form it comes, with a commensurate level of business sense, and are able to make a living out of it - prefer to be called "Fashionpreneurs" - a combination of fashion sense and a calculated entrepreneurship. Somali-born Iman Mohamed Abdulmajid, internationally known as IMAN, became a global icon at a very young age in her modeling career. By age 19 when she started she was already a hit, making huge bucks and locking horns with the best. Few weeks into her modeling career, opportunities to shoot photographed sessions for internationally recognized fashion publications like Vogue, starred her in the face. Suddenly, the innocent-looking daughter of a diplomat raised up in Mogadishu had seen the light of what used to be a distant dream. Living the American dream as most migrants at the time prayed and yearned for - became all to close and clear to a point where she called the shots - even as a young adult. It wasn't long when almost every other big fashion name started going after her. From nowhere, IMAN became the go-to girl in the modeling industry in the world at the time, and got most heads talking and wondering how she did it.
