Two Nigerian Air Force jets crashed in the Katampe area of Abuja on Friday while taking part in rehearsals for the 58th Independence Day celebrations.
premium Times reports that Ibikunle Daramola, the Air Force spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying:
“I wish to confirm an air incident involving 2 Nigerian Air Force aircraft taking part in the rehearsals for the 58th Independence Day Celebrations. Thankfully no lives were lost. Details will be communicated later.”
Squadron Leader, Bello Mohamed Baba-Ari, is the Nigerian Air Force Pilot that died in the crash that occured in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, today September 28th. Two NAF aircrafts practicising for the Independence day celebration, collided and crashed earlier today.
Baba-Ari has since been buried according to Islamic rites. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
