EMMY AWARDS NOMINATIONS
All our favourite stars, including Anthony Anderson, Yvonne Orji, Mark Duplass, Uzo Aduba, Issa Rae, and Regina King, get nods as the Emmys announce the 2020 nominations.
Netflix gathered a total of 180 nominations, followed by HBO with 107 nods, as new services like Disney+, Apple TV+ also made their mark.
Netflix’s “Ozark” and HBO’s “Succession” led the drama categories with 18 nominations each, while Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” dominated the comedy side with 20 nominations. However, HBO’s “Watchmen” landed the most nominations of any series, securing 26 nominations.
Leslie Jones was joined by Laverne Cox, Josh Gad and Tatiana Maslany to announce the nominations. Final-round Emmy voting which begins August 21 and runs through August 31, leading into the Creative Arts ceremony which will be in some virtual form this year. Winners of this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards will be unveiled September 20 live an ABC in a ceremony hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
